Join Me On An Epic Himalayan Motorcycle Tour Into The Remote Kingdoms of Kashmir and Ladakh
Join on an exhilarating 14-day Himalayan Motorcycle Tour, crossing the majestic landscapes of Ladakh and Kashmir. This meticulously crafted itinerary offers riders an unparalleled adventure through some of the world’s most breathtaking terrains.
Over the years, I’ve explored these routes by bicycle and motorbike, a combination of perspectives that I feel makes this a unique motorcycle tour of the Himalayas.
I’ve designed this route to appeal to riders seeking to experience the full-fat, no-holds-barred edition of India. The Kashmir Ladakh Loop offers a wide-angle view of north India’s most stunning mountainous regions.
This is a two-week motorcycle ride through a hand-picked collection of my personal highlights, collected over a decade of living here as an expat.

This ride isn’t for everyone.
When I set out to cycle around the world, it was because I wanted to experience the world first-hand. To meet the challenges of the journey and see how I reckoned up.
If you’re a regular rider with an appetite for a once in a lifetime adventure, then this is for you.
India can be a very intense place to travel
This journey is an invitation to join a band of adventure seeking riders exploring the roof of the India.
As a participant, this is a chance to experience the highest peaks in the world by motorcycle. For me, this is about sharing a passion for a place I call home.
If you’re ready to test your riding ability to the limit while traversing some of the best ADV terrain on the planet, then this is the trip for you
Places are limited to a handful each year and I lead each group personally. The weather window is slim, just a few months through summer. I only take one group a season on this route.

The Great Himalayan Loop: The Ancient Kingdoms of Kashmir and Ladakh
Day 1 – Chandigarh → Shimla (115 km)
We roll out from the plains and into the Shivalik Hills. Smooth twisty tarmac, fresh pine air, and hill station charm to start our Himalayan ascent.
Day 2 – Shimla → Sarahan (165 km)
Ride the spine of Himachal. Cling to the cliffs above the Sutlej River, pass hydro dams and apple orchards. Sarahan greets us with temple bells and mountain views.
Day 3 – Sarahan → Nako (165 km)
The terrain shifts – forests give way to rock and sand. We climb into the high desert of Kinnaur. ko sits quietly beside a sacred lake surrounded by ancient stone homes.
Day 4 – Nako → Kaza (115 km)
Welcome to Spiti Valley. Stark, surreal, and spiritual. We ride narrow mountain roads past cliffside monasteries and cross into the heart of the Trans-Himalaya.
Day 5 – Kaza → Sarchu (220 km)
Big day. Kunzum La (4,590m), glacial rivers, switchbacks, and pure riding joy. Enter Lahaul. Camp in style at 4,300m under the clearest sky you’ve ever seen.
Day 6 – Sarchu → Leh (230 km)
This is the road you came for. Tackle Nakee La, Lachung La, and the wild plains of More. Cross Tanglang La (5,328m) and coast into Leh – Ladakh’s vibrant capital.
Day 7 – Rest Day in Leh
Chill, wander, or ride Khardung La (optional). Explore monasteries, eat well, shop for prayer flags. You’ve earned it.

Day 9 – Kargil → Srinagar (210 km)
Ride over Zoji La (3,528m) into lush Kashmir. This pass marks the shift from stark rock to alpine green. We spend the night on a traditional Dal Lake houseboat.
Day 10 – Srinagar → Daksum (130 km)
A gentle ride through forested Kashmir. We dive into a lesser-known gem – Margan or Sinthan Top – depending on conditions. Quiet roads, big skies.

Remote, raw, and thrilling. Cross Sinthan Pass and descend into the wilds of Pangi Valley. This is adventure motorcycling at its purest.

Exit the wilderness via narrow ledges and rugged trails. Cross the Atal Tunnel into the green chaos of Manali. Cold beers and warm beds await.
Day 13 – Manali → Chandigarh (270 km)
A final push. Long mountain highway through Mandi and Bilaspur. Scenic, sweeping roads that let you reflect on the ride of a lifetime.
